2008

Speaking of Robby Hammock, he's baseball's one true five-corners player, capable of playing anywhere but middle infield or center field, and would be a valuable space-saver on a lot of rosters.

2007

Robby Hammock is a multi-position type who could make a neat third catcher/pinch hitter/third baseman. Sort of like Marty Castillo, except good.

2005

Hammock can hit a little, more than he showed in 2004, and has a reasonable if unspectacular reputation defensively. Still, given that the Dbacks were used to watching Rod Barajas, it's not surprising they like Hammock. At press time doctors were contemplating a second surgery on his left knee, so he's a long shot to get the starting job out of spring training.
