2008

Aussie Harman is no defensive kangaroo, but if he can continue to hit with power he should have a major league future as a second baseman. The catch is that Harman repeated the Florida State League last year and needs to show that he can continue to produce after making the jump to Double-A this year. The Phillies are seemingly set forever in the middle infield with Rollins and Utley, but with like Harman and Donald coming along, they might someday have better infield alternates than Abraham Nu?ez and his immediate forebear, Tomas Perez.

2007

Brad Harman, Australia`s WBC shortstop, was awful after a breakthrough 2005; his father`s illness may have taken his mind off of baseball.

2006

Philadelphia`s Great White Australian Hope, Harman is considered the best Aussie prospect the organization has signed. Baseball America says that no Aussies have been given bonuses of more than $50K, `a welcome change from the Latin American market the organization believes has become overpriced.` How convenient: having missed the bus, the cab, the jitney, and even the pedicab as smart organizations rushed to sign Latin talent in the past two decades, Philadelphia now has an excuse to look elsewhere.
