Perhaps unfairly, Logan`s big league future is staked on the prospect of his becoming a LOOGY--that`s what lefty relievers get asked to do. In 2006, he came up short, as his combined major league and minor league numbers from last year attest: his K/BB ratio was 2.62 against left-handed hitters and 2.68 against righties, and lefties hit him for higher batting and slugging averages. The big disparity between his major and minor league numbers can probably be excused as jitters; it`s not often that a pitcher jumps from the Pioneer League to the bigs in the span of a single winter.
