2008 The first Racine native ever to play for the Brewers, this undrafted free agent has clawed his way up the organizational ladder by virtue of his gap power and versatility. The bulk of Rottino's playing time has been at third base, but he can play all four corners and since 2003 has dabbled in catching. Last year, the organization upped the ante, having him spend more time behind the plate than anywhere else. Rottino did a solid job, nabbing 35 percent of base thieves. Though he'll draw consideration as Jason Kendall's backup, the reluctance of most managers to be creative when deploying their reserve catchers suggests he'd be more valuable as 25th man who can provide flexibility. 2007 Vinny Rottino doesn`t really have a position. He spent time as a catcher in the AFL, but can`t really catch, and he`s a bit old to be a real prospect.
