Another weekend of baseball in the books. With the Olympics going on, Fox elected not to broadcast any games on Saturday. For those of us who aren't fans of national blackouts, this was a very nice surprise. Hopefully we'll get more Saturdays like that in the future. Also, it may be shocking to realize that there are now less than two months left in the season. When did August happen again?

Enough of that. Let's get to some trots!

Home Run of the Day: Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers – 24.2 seconds [video]
Miguel Cabrera doing Miguel Cabrera things. This was quite the game between Detroit and Cleveland, with Cleveland scoring three in the top of the tenth to take the lead only to see Detroit put up five in the bottom half to win it.

On Friday, the two Upton brothers – 24-year-old Justin and 27-year-old BJ – each hit a home run. It was the 100th career home run for each of them. Also on Friday, Mat Latos hit his first home run of the season. On Saturday, Kevin Youkilis had a two-home run game for the White Sox.

Slowest Trot: Ryan Doumit, Minnesota Twins and Adrian Gonzalez, Boston Red Sox – 26.3 seconds [video and video]
This is pretty rare. Not only do we have a tie for the slowest tater trot of the night, but each of the two slow trotters were playing in the same game. Gonzalez took his stroll early in the game, after his fifth inning blast gave Boston a 4-1 lead over Minnesota. Doumit's came with two outs in the ninth inning, pulling Minnesota to within two of Boston. The Twins didn't score after that.

The two trots beat out Prince Fielder's trot for the slowest of the weekend. On Friday, Fielder took 26.21 seconds to enjoy his trot.

Quickest Trot: Raul Ibanez, New York Yankees – 19.24 seconds [video]
One of three trots to come in under 20-seconds on Sunday. The fastest trot on Saturday was from Boston's Pedro Ciriaco on his first career home run. He scooted around the bases in 17.25 seconds, pushing his way into the ever-tightening Top 10 Quickest Trots.

The quickest trot of the weekend, however, came on Friday. Cincinnati's Chris Heisey used all of his hustle to score on an inside-the-park home run after Pittsburgh leftfielder Starling Marte mistimed his jump (video). If Heisey wasn't as quick as he is, or if he didn't start running hard from the get-go, there's no way he would have made it in time. As it is, his 15.22 second trot time was just barely enough to beat the throw.
