  • Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune was told by a Cubs source that the club is discussing a trade with the Yankees involving OF Alfonso Soriano, but that conversations are preliminary and they are "not close" to a deal yet.
  • SP Jenrry Mejia will start for the Mets in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader with the Nationals.
  • RP Jim Henderson is likely to move back into the closer role for the Brewers following the trade of Francisco Rodriguez.
