The Caribbean leagues were off on Monday, so we’ll take a quick tour around the Arizona Fall League:

  • Kyle Jensen, RF/DH, Marlins (24) (Phoenix): 3-for-5, 2B (5), 2 R, RBI, CS. On a tear over his last four games, going 11-for-19 with four doubles; has boosted his overall line to .400/.447/.543.
  • Hak-Ju Lee, SS, Rays (21) (Phoenix): 1-for-4, R, BB, K, SB (2): Owns a five-game hit streak, but they’ve all been one-hit games (5-for-19); batting .233/.361/.300 with a 10-6 K-BB.
  • Jake Marisnick, CF, Blue Jays (21) (Salt River): 1-for-3, R, BB, SB (2). Finished the regular season strong, hitting .375/.386/.625 over his final nine games at Double-A New Hampshire, but hasn’t gotten it going in Arizona yet; batting .207/.273/.310 with a 10-2 K-BB.
  • Deck McGuire, RHP, Blue Jays (23) (Salt River): 1.1 IP, 1 H, 2 K. Striking out more than a batter per inning (six whiffs in 5.1 innings) as a reliever in the AFL after fanning just over six per nine innings as part of a disastrous regular season at Double-A.
  • Hunter Morris, 1B, Brewers (23) (Phoenix): 3-for-5, SB (1): Took steps forward at Double-A and alleviated some of the concerns about his bat. Morris is still a bat-first first base prospect, so he’ll have to continue to rake in order to have a chance at a major-league future.
  • Jimmy Nelson, RHP, Brewers (23) (Phoenix): 2.0 IP, 0 H, 4 K. Milwaukee’s second-round pick in 2010, Nelson battled significant control issues upon his arrival at Double-A Huntsville in June, posting a 7.2 BB/9 in 46 innings. He issued four walks in his final 13 innings of the regular season and has just two free passes in nine innings in the AFL; 1-0, 2.00 ERA, 8-2 K-BB overall.
  • Kyle Simon, RHP, Phillies (22) (Peoria): 3.0 IP, 2 H, 3 K. Gave up eight runs in one-third of an inning in his AFL debut on October 12, but has thrown six innings of one-run ball over his last two appearances (1-1, 11.37 ERA, 4-1 K-BB overall).
  • Matt Skole, 1B, Nationals (23) (Salt River): 0-for-4, 3 K. Six-game hit streak comes to an end, but Skole is still hitting .423/.531/.654 in seven games.
  • George Springer, CF/DH, Astros (23) (Mesa): 1-for-2, 2B (2), 2 R, BB. Batting .214 over his last four games and .304/.464/.609 with a 6-6 K-BB overall.
  • Mike Zunino, C, Mariners (21) (Peoria): 1-for-4, K. Extends his hit streak to six games; batting .278/.297/.528 with a 7-1 K-BB.
