Bats: Right Throws: Left
Height: 6' 3" Weight: 265
Mechanics
Big body; would guess 20+ pounds heavier than listed weight; high maintenance potential; 3/4 slot; comes chest-high front side; bend in the back and good forward explosion using the legs; creates good angle; slow to the plate with runners on; 1.45-1.5; painfully slow in between pitches; struggles to stay in rhythm; prone to long innings.

Pitch Type Future Grade Sitting Velocity Peak Velocity Report
FB 60 91-93 94 Shows very good arm strength; fastball velocity in the 91-93 range for all of the start (5.1 IP); arm action is clean and release is easy; natural cutting action to the glove-side; strong offering against RH when he can work inside; command grade is below-average at present; can work down with fastball but misses his spots; projects to be average at maturity; present fastball finds too many barrels; doesn't fool hitters; will be a good setup pitch in the future but needs grade jump from command to play as true plus offering.
SL 60 82-86 86 Strong pitch; average utility at present but projects to be a plus offering; in the 82-83 range, shows shorter break and more bite; was able to throw pitch in this velocity range for strikes; confident in the pitch; would use it when ahead/behind in the count; mid-80s slider was round and lacked sharpness; pitch in this velocity range was easier to track and wasn't effective; some slot inconsistency with secondary offerings.
CH 50 81-84 84 Was signature secondary pitch coming into the season; wasn't strong in this start; slot inconsistency and more deliberate in the delivery; arm slot was slightly higher; pitch was flat and constantly arm-side and up; wasn't turning the pitch over and creating any noticeable action; lost deception in the delivery because of slowed body and slot flux; should find its way back to average (or slightly better) with more refinement; didn't show confidence in the offering during the start.
Overall

Body could be high maintenance, as he is already looking a little soft; very good arm strength and shows feel for pitching; fastball has natural cutting action and solid-average to plus velocity; command is below-average at present with chance to reach average; slider was very good in the 82-83 range, with short but tight two-plane break; can throw slider for a strike; pitch was too round and lacked intensity (hanger) at 86 mph; changeup was flat all game; no action and missing arm-side and high; showed good hand/eye coordination at the plate; can swing the bat a little at the plate; decent athlete for size.

Struggled with secondary consistency and fastball command in the start, but components are there for mid-rotation ceiling; fastball/slider with plus projections; chanegup was below-average in start but could be average pitch (or better) with more work/mechanical consistency. Role 6 ceiling; back-end starter floor. Top 101 prospect candidate.
