For All You Kids Out There

In May 2016, Jeffrey Paternostro and Jarrett Seidler recorded a three-hour, rambling podcast about the first month of Mets baseball and an improbable Bartolo Colon home run. Thus, For All You Kids Out There, an overly intellectual, late night cocktail lounge conversation between two lifelong Mets fans was born. With thirteen years of prospect writing (and sixty years of pulling out hair out watching Mets baseball) combined, we cover everything from the low minors to the majors, trades and free agent signings, and other assorted weird Metropolitan ephemera.

Episode 306: "I played video games in a drunken haze, I was seventeen years young"

October 26th, 2021

In Episode 306 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett talk about the ongoing, never-ending Mets POBO (or maybe just GM now) search. Jarrett may also try and settle all family business. We also chat about the playoffs. In the second half of the show we are joined by Trevor Strunk to talk about his book, Story Mode, and get some Phillies prospects thoughts from a real expert. And in the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and talk about the professional wrestling. No, we don’t know how these keep being almost two-and-a-half hours either.

Episode 305: "The frickin’ wrestling cowboy"

October 18th, 2021

In Episode 305 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett chat about the ongoing Mets FO search and the start of the Arizona Fall League. In the second half of the show we are joined by Sydney Bergman to discuss her new book, Unwritten Rules, how much catcher framing discussion you can fit in a modern romance novel, and who gets to call baseball players hot. Then in the third half of the show we answer the same e-mail we answered last week on the show you didn’t hear, complete with a different ten minute tangent this time, before wrapping up with the wrestling portion of the show. You can probably guess what that is about.

Episode 304: #RIPEpisode304

October 14th, 2021

This podcast (and others) has a long history of breaking Jeffrey’s computer. Well, that happened again, and once again he has learned nothing in his 30s. Anyway here’s a brief recap of what you missed that turned into a sort of actual show.

Episode 303: "And how will I know, if history repeats itself? How will I know?"

October 4th, 2021

In Episode 303 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett hope you have a long commute. In the first half of the show, we discuss another (at least final) week of Mets baseball and all the “fun” stories around a grumpy Mets ace and a ponderous executive search. In the second half of the show we do our traditional roster wrap up. It’s, uh, a very large roster this year. And in the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and try to keep up with the goings on in Game 162.

Episode

Episode 302: "We’ve drifted again"

September 26th, 2021

In Episode 302 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett theoretically talk about the Mets player dev shake up, but end up talking about Paul Sewald. It happens. It takes an hour. In the third half of the show, we answer questions about the 2022 Mets and review the week in wrestling.

Episode

Episode 301: "Flies in the Vasoline We Are"

September 20th, 2021

In Episode 301 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett are back, and so are The Jetsssss. Their struggles prove a useful bouncing off point for discussion of the Mets C-suite. There’s cocktail metaphors, some needless Coney Island slander, and remembering of the 90s too. Plus, one very important This Week in Tylor Megill. Then in the third half of the show, we answer your correspondence and talk a little AEW after Jarrett refuses to talk about WWE. Eh, he’s probably right.

Episode

Episode 300: "Hardly art, hardly starving / Hardly art, hardly started"

September 13th, 2021

In Episode 300 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett are joined by Allison, Liam, Will, Brady, Thomas, and Goog for three hours of the usual dumb Mets-adjacent podcast.

Episode

Episode 299: "Ancient Memes"

September 4th, 2021

In Episode 299 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett are joined by David Roth of Defector Media to cover everything that happened since we recorded last week. The Mets haven’t lost on the field since, but continue to be a disaster off the field. We also chat about who edits David and try to figure out who the most 2021 Met is. In the third half of the show we take a few questions, but don’t really have any pro wrestling to talk about.

Episode

Episode 298: "All Out on the 2021 Mets"

August 30th, 2021

In Episode 298 of For All You Kids Out There, the Mets have a weird (winning) Sunday lineup, a Covid rehab setback, and some new relievers. We also answer your correspondence and preview AEW All Out, but decided not to talk about that other thing unless someone gets fired or rage cut over it.

Episode

Episode 297: "Cyclones chat in a hurricane"

August 23rd, 2021

In Episode of 297 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss some Cyclones prospects and then other stuff. I’ll be honest there’s no real framework here. (is there ever?). Then in the third half of the show we answer your questions and chat about CM Punk’s return and the mess that is present-day WWE.

Episode

Episode 296: "If you haven’t seen it, it’s new to you"

August 16th, 2021

In Episode 296 of For All You Kids Out There, we re-litigate the Mets offseason, the Mets lack of bullpen moves, and the Mets catching situation (and catchers bunting situation), before talking about wet guys and a lot fo pro wrestlinng.

Episode

Episode 294: "The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them"

August 9th, 2021

In Episode 294 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett are pretty tired of the Mets, but nevertheless answer your questions about the Mets, and then talk about the professional wrestling.

Episode

Episode 293: "When the smoke dies down, you can rest assured, we will know who kept his word"

August 2nd, 2021

In Episode 293 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss the Mets not signing Kumar Rocker. Frankly that’s most of the first half of the show, but we do spend some time on early Javy Báez returns and the current state of the Mets. In the second half of the show, Jeffrey goes over his Binghamton looks and annoys Jarrett by talking about a bunch of Role 3s (they are interesting Role 3s, Jarrett). In the third half of the show we answer a lot of correspondence and chat some more about AEW.

Episode

In Episode 292 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett have a late night trade deadline discussion.
