From Milwaukee sports anchor Dario Melendez, who is down in Maryvale covering the Brewers today:
Weeks on batting 5th: "I'll like to bat anywhere else but 5. I just feel stagnant when I'm there like 'drove in run, what's next?"

Rickie Weeks is a confident man. He knows he can hit. He knows he can run. He knows that he can use those skills to both drive in runs and score runs for the Brewers. He also knows that he can't do that when he's batting in front of lousy hitters like Yuniesky Betancourt and Casey McGehee. He knows that this is a sad situation for both himself and the Brewers.
Rickie Weeks is a smart man.

And, honestly, I'm sure he was just saying that hitting higher in the order is better because he'll have a better chance of being moved around the bases from 2-5 hitters rather than 6-9 hitters - which is pretty much true of any lineup in baseball. It's the wisdom that matters (and he just happened to learn that wisdom while batting in front of McGehee and Yuni).
Plus, I just love the whole confidence thing...
