  • Padres SP Jason Marquis limited the Dodgers to one run and three hits in 7 2/3 innings to earn his first win of the season.

  • Rockies SP Jeff Francis was roughed up again, but escaped with a no-decision, allowing eight runs — six earned — over 4 1/3 frames in the 9-8 win over the Mets.

  • Padres 2B Alexi Amarista singled three times and drove in four runs against the Dodgers.

  • Padres OF Chris Denorfia went 3-for-6 with a double, a steal and two runs scored vs.the Dodgers.

  • Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa (wrist) isn't expected back in the lineup until Friday.

  • Pirates SP Wandy Rodriguez (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday before he's cleared to start on Friday.

  • Red Sox RP Franklin Morales (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Greenville on Wednesday.

  • Rays DH Luke Scott (calf) ran the bases at about 60 percent effort on Tuesday.

  • Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Tuesday that a May 1 return for SS Derek Jeter (ankle) is very unlikely.

  • A's 2B Scott Sizemore underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.
