A quick post today as we all get ready to watch a certain movie… Let's get to the trots!
Home Run of the Day: Josh Donaldson, Oakland Athletics – 20.33* seconds [video]
It's still impossible to know when a video might be embeddable from MLB.com, which explains why the Harper home run is above instead of the Donaldson walkoff. Regardless, trust me when I say that Donaldson was very excited to hit the game winning home run in the bottom of the twelfth inning and it showed on the bases.
Slowest Trot: Ian Kinsler, Texas Rangers – 24.02 seconds [video]
Overall, a pretty speedy trot to find atop the slowest trot list on a day when so many home runs were hit. Bad luck for Kinsler.
Quickest Trot: Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals – 17.82 seconds [video]
I never know whether to feel happy or upset to see a trot like this from Harper. On the one hand, it's nice to know that he's keeping up his speedy ways. On the other, it's so easy to see him sprinting out this trot at a much faster pace. Boy are we spoiled.
Andrew McCutchen had the second quickest trot of the day at 18.46 seconds.
