- Rangers OF Jeff Baker is currently dealing with a sports hernia and will be limited to DH and pinch-hitting duties against left-handed pitching for the remainder of the season.
- Athletics 1B Nate Freiman is expected to miss the next few games as he's dealing with a strained muscle in his abdomen.
- Angels SP Jered Weaver (forearm) was able to avoid an MRI exam, and hopes to make his next scheduled start on Wednesday.
- OF Yoenis Cespedes (shoulder) will continue to serve as the A's DH when he's in the lineup, as he's still "at least a few days" away from returning to the outfield.

- Dodgers 3B Michael Young will see work at second base over the final week and a half of the regular season so the veteran infielder is prepared for an emergency situation in the playoffs.
- RP Kevin Gregg apologized to Theo Epstein, Dale Sveum, the Cubs organization and to the members of the media in the press boxon Friday, for voicing his displeasure on Friday.
- Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa will not make his scheduled start against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
- SP Collin McHugh is likely to start for the Rockies when they take on the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

- Yankees SP Andy Pettitte officially announced his retirement Friday, effective at the conclusion of the 2013 season.
