- According to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, contract talks "haven't progressed very far" between the Giants and impending free agent OF Hunter Pence.
- Braves OF Jason Heyward is expected to be in the lineup for the final four games of the regular season.
- MLB has suspended Braves OF Reed Johnson and fined him an undisclosed amount for his involvement in Wednesday's benches-clearing incident with the Brewers on Wednesday.
- MLB suspended Brewers OF Carlos Gomez for one game for his actions during Wednesday's game against the Braves.
- Mets SP Jon Niese will start Sunday's season finale against the Brewers.
American League:
- According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, 2B Robinson Cano has asked the Yankees for a $300 million contract.
- Orioles 2B Alexi Casilla is not expected to play in the final four games of the season.
- The Yankees have pushed SP Andy Pettitte's final start back to Saturday against the Astros.
