The second of the two new podcasts to debut this past week at Baseball Prospectus, There is No Off-Season is going to be quite different than its sister podcast, Flags Fly Forever. In this space, we will discuss all things dynasty and long-term keeper related, and nothing but. We will focus on both the major and minor league sides of things, but all within the spectrum of long-term value. You'll learn a lot, at least when we're not spouting off inside jokes and berating Craig–and even maybe then too.

This week's topics:

Introductions All Around (0:00-3:30)
The Prospects We've Been Most Right/Wrong About (3:31-17:10)
A Debate/Discussion of Bret's Top 50 2013 Signees for Dynasty Leagues (17:11-50:06)
Discussing TINO's Tagline and There Is No Ending (50:07-54:53)

And everything you need to listen and enjoy is below this line that I'm typing right now:

Good overall but the "what are you drinking" bit was a bit forced and unoriginal.

I defy you to name even one other podcast that has done "what are you drinking"

I cannot think of anyone who "started" their podcast with the "What are you drinking" segment. And at least the drink wasn't too "scotch-y".

I can't recall anyone else ever doing "What are you drinking". Can anyone else on this site?

Nothing comes to mind re: others doing "what are you drinking?" and would be willing to wager that finding other examples will be difficult.

That Sayre hasn't chimed in on this point makes me think that oloughla has a point.

In the walls of the cubicle there were three orifices. To the right of the speakwrite, a small pneumatic tube for written messages, to the left, a larger one for newspapers; and in the side wall, within easy reach of Winston's arm, a large oblong slit protected by a wire grating. This last was for the disposal of waste paper. Similar slits existed in thousands or tens of thousands throughout the building, not only in every room but at short intervals in every corridor. For some reason they were nicknamed memory holes. When one knew that any document was due for destruction, or even when one saw a scrap of waste paper lying about, it was an automatic action to lift the flap of the nearest memory hole and drop it in, whereupon it would be whirled away on a current of warm air to the enormous furnaces which were hidden somewhere in the recesses of the building.

Rejoice!

Finally, a place where I don't feel like a weirdo for looking at fantasy baseball stuff in January.

As if the thoughts and never-ending angst of my Dynasty team wasn't bad enough on my own accord, There is now an outlet that actually encourages such dysfunctional behavior. I couldn't be happier. But my family and employer hate your guts. Can't wait for Episode 2. So how about that 2014 draft class, I gotta start prepping, my draft is only 340 days away.

I like the concept of the podcast but the list of guys you 'hit on' included;
A 1:1 with 109 IP, a 1:8 in AA, another guy in AA, and a guy in low A.

This is a step in the right direction!

Now if I could find an NL only, auction based fantasy baseball podcast.

I'm a deep league guy and am definitely hoping to hit on much more deep league stuff on the Flags Fly Forever podcast that Bret, Mauricio and I record.

To go into the way way back machine, the prospect I was really high on who utterly failed was Ray McDavid. Look him up.
