Even as a Giants fan, I was OK with your earlier focus on the ALCS. That made sense. (That series started sooner, hit 3-1 sooner, etc.)

I should (but probably won't) get around to e-mailing a specific question. Still, I'm interested in hearing more this postseason about advanced/applicable defense stats, with the angle being any stats that help reveal potential keys to the Royals success... if there are any.

(At the end of the day, you'd think that even a simple run differential stat would reveal great defense causing a team to excel. Last I checked, the Royal's regular season run differential wasn't anything special. ...so, this may just a hot team playing hard and catching some lucky breaks.)

Cheers!

I wrote about the Royals' outfield, if you're interested. I used some advanced/applicable defensive stats.

Probably a stupid question, but it seems to me that Royals make an inordinate percentage of their hits going opposite field -- is there a way to quantify that and see if it's unusual? Spray charts, I guess.
